Conservation Task Day - October 2017

20 people took part in today's Conservation Task....Wow! Amazing!!
Great to see some new faces, some returning old ones and many of the regulars.
Over 60 hours put in today.
Photos don't really do it justice.
Access path by the bridge and horse mounting block cleared.
Field edge bridleway cut back and overhanging branches removed to aid cyclists and horse riders.
Big tidy up of the glade, burning a lot of cuttings, building habitat piles and pulling out some of the spreading bramble.
Fortunately we had plenty of bonfire cooked sausages to keep the team going. 🙂
Many thanks everyone. Looking forward to November 5th.... Why not come along and join us.
The team spotted this dangerous dead branch hanging high up above the path today.
Fortunately no match for our Japanese bladed extending pole saw.
It always pays to keep half an eye on what's above your head when walking in the woods, particular on windy days.
Known as a "widow maker" in the forestry trade. 😯
