Sunday
After some really great progress on the Balsam, we are going to have what might be the last hit of the season the Sunday....
This time we will start at the entrance to Uddens Plantation near the Police station entrance and spend at least the first couple of hours there, before heading pack upstream to see if we have missed any.
What to wear - We are in amongst the undergrowth (with brambles and nettles possible as well as the distinct possibility of ticks).
The ground is uneven and could be muddy/wet in places.
Definitely suggest long trousers and even long sleeves. Footwear to suit too.
We will bring along drinks and biscuits, but if staying over lunch, feel free to bring something more substantial.
Gloves available as always, but if you have some lighter weight grippy type gloves, you may want to bring them.
We will go back to a 9am start, but will probably finish earlier than our usual 3pm - come later (and/or finish earlier) if you prefer.
We will finish by 3pm, depending on what we find to pull and when everyone has had enough (particularly if it is very warm).
Parking at Ferndown Forest Golf course (why not grab something to eat or drink at the Forest Inn on the way home.... It is very good!)

Vegetation work on the burial mounds.
Meet at the main mound with the fence at the viewpoint.
